Celebrating Milo’s 4th Birthday with Snorlax

It’s Little Milo’s 4th birthday! Our cute little chubby baby has grown taller and slimmer! And this time, he has decided to celebrate it with his long time little chubby buddy, the Snorlax!

It wasn’t really that easy to find Snorlax’s cake topper at such last minute, so mommy decided to take up the challenge and made it herself. Thankfully (phew!), it turns out still not too bad. Lol.

We had our celebration at the usual place – the corridor with our big extended family. His aunt managed to buy some Snorlax drink from Taiwan too! But I would say, it tasted a little weird. So for taste wise, skip it unless it’s for the collection purpose.

Here’s little Milo with his signature pose, and his doggy present. Godmom has a new puppy, named Toby, and every kid wants a dog now! But mommy is scare (+sensitive nose), so sorrrrry…

We played treasure hunt again, with a slight twist. Since little Milo never join in, the 2 primary schoolers are supposed to find “food” for Snorlax, who eats 400kg of food.

Whoever has the amount of food closest to 400kg wins! They were freaking out trying to add up the numbers. But definitely not too bad after I allowed them to use calculators.

And then that ends our celebration that weekend night.

Then we continued with playground and water play on another day!

It’s always nice to see them enjoying themselves so much.

From running, to climbing, or just lying on the pool of water.

Or simply just getting sprayed by water!

The day ended with the free Swensen ice cream on his birthday!

Happy Birthday, my little cutie!

It’s Pokemon Again!

Pokemons are still here! Little milkie has requested for a Pokemon theme (again -.-”’) for her mini birthday celebration at home with the big family two weeks ago. Challenging? Definitely for the mommy as she cracked her head trying to think what else she can do. I seriously hope that she won’t request for it again the next year.

It’s weird though that little milkie insisted to just celebrate it at home instead of with her friends, and told me that she is too shy to want to be the center of attention in school. Not sure if that’s a bad thing but anyway, it was quite a last minute planning. Was so happy that I got to receive all the items that I ordered just slightly more than a week ago!

So after cracking my head, I decided to try and make a pinata, just for the fun of it. Had initially wanted to bake a cake too but there simply wasn’t enough time. Sometimes I really wonder how did some of the mommies do it all, to manage the chores, and homework, and yet still can find time to accompany the kids.

Anyway, the night before the celebration, I stayed up late to make the pinata. Apparently there seems to be 2 ways to make a pinata, using either paper mache or cardboard. I chose the latter one which was an easier choice.

It’s not that difficult if your shape isn’t those irregular ones. It’s just time consuming as there’s a lot of taping (use paper tapes) and gluing.

After 6 hours of slow work (while watching movie on the TV), I am glad it’s done! And it looks like a pokeball!

And so we started our mini celebration with openings of goodie bags…

Followed by ‘smashing’ of the pinata… (which partly got took over by the adults)

That dropped off the small pokemons and tidbits, and made the 2 older kids go all crazy…

Then that’s it. No baking of cake so we bought a new cake from Bengawan solo. The pandan cheese roll flavour now made into a round cake, topped with pokemon figurines that I bought from Qoo10.

And hope these kids will grow up together and be as close as now.

The moment she’s waiting for…

That’s about it. A nice little celebration with the big family. I’ve always like the idea of such gatherings but of course it also depends greatly on the relationships. We are blessed to have that so treasure it if you have.

Time flies and my little milkie is already 6 years old with 3 baby teeth dropped. Hope she will continue to be as happy as now, and grow up healthily!

Happy 6th birthday! Love you always! 😘

A Care & Share Birthday

Time really flies and little milo is 3 years old!
After days of preparations for a small celebration, glad that all went well, except for the decorations which mommy could have done better. Nonetheless at least the cake is up!

I still remember the day I was going to deliver little milo, there were 2 other April mummies with me too (so nice to know them!). And one of them was in the other waiting room. I came in first but my gynae had to attend to another emergency, thus in the end the other mummy gave birth to her baby first.

During that whole morning and afternoon of waiting, it wasn’t as smooth as little milkie’s. There was a period where the heart rate of the baby increased but yet the nurses never mentioned anything and the next thing, I was given oxygen! And then came evening when the gynae came and said that little milo can come out already. The moment little milo came out, my gynae said, “You silly boy, why get yourself entangled?”

That was when I realised that the umbilical cord probably went around his arms or legs and thus when there’s contractions, it tightened around him and he was scare. Thankfully all was fine though little milo had to stay in the NICU for 12 hours before I get to see him.

Okay, 3 years has passed and now he’s a little cheeky naughty boy, who has finally starts to talk a bit more ever since he went to N1 in the same preschool as little milkie.

I bought him a little care bear for Christmas last year and probably because of that, he chose the care bears when I asked him to choose his birthday theme this year.

The theme wasn’t as easy as I thought since it’s not trending now. Initially I ordered some care bear figurines from Taobao and they ended up in the wrong colours!

I was so disappointed but I was determined to find these figurines as I simply don’t have the time to make them. So I bought another set from Qoo10 after checking the reviews but alas, it was in the wrong colours too…

I was so upset until I didn’t know what to do and that was 3 weeks before the celebration. I didn’t want to buy from online anymore but luckily, Toy ‘r’ Us was selling those mystery packs, with care bears in neon colours! Neon is better than wrong!

And since last weekend, I had my exams too, it was tough trying to make those preparations. I know, lessons learned:

  • Try not to buy things online unless it’s a lot cheaper and/or the reviews are really good
  • Do not expect too much from things bought online
  • Plan and do things EARLY
  • NEVER EVER give up!

We played a simple treasure hunt too, requested by little milkie and she definitely had fun eating all the goodies (when I am not looking)!

Anyway, am always thankful for the help that my big family had given. It’s great to stay together and near to each other and hope it stays that way.

Am also thankful for the joy that little milkie and milo had brought into our life.

Lastly, a big thank you for all the presents and ang baos! Great food, happy kids, beautiful day! It’s a care bear day so let’s start caring and sharing!

P/S: Love you and of course your sister too! ♡♡

Milkie’s Gotta Catch ‘Em All!

Her long awaited 5th birthday is finally here as we had our small celebration last weekend! It wasn’t a well prepared one and her mommy did all these at the last minute. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed ourselves!

This year she requested for a Pokemon theme instead of the Care Bear theme, which the mom likes, but she had rejected twice already. (Looks like Care Bears are out for her.)

I got a bunch of balloons for her, just to be fair since I got one bunch for little milo too.

And then I prepared a little game for ALL… using ping pong balls which I drew into pokeballs using permanent markers!

Then using a big piece of canvas, I cut 4 different sizes of circles on it. The rules are simple.

  • There will be 3 teams – red, blue and yellow. This will be randomly chosen.
  • Each person will be given 3 chances to throw the ball.
  • The team with the highest points will win.
  • Each circle has a different point. 4 sizes, with the biggest only 1 point and the smallest at 4 points.
  • There is a line marked on the floor (different markings for adults and children). Players are required to stand behind

And so our game began! With tons of confusions, and laughter.

In the end, the yellow team won! It’s a tad sad that little milo wasn’t feeling well and thus never participated in the game.

We had our ice cream cake from Udders after that. It’s the shape of a pokeball. Other than the fact that we took a long while to finally manage to cut it, it’s a nice cake! (Though the aunties still prefer the real cake)

Lastly, and her favourite moment of all – opening of presents! Yup, she LOVES all of them and couldn’t wait to play with the toys!

And here’s a big THANK YOU for all the presents and the ang baos! So here’s a short clip of our small (and messy) celebrations:

Milo is 2!

How time flies!! Sounds familiar but that’s exactly how I felt everytime my little milkie and milo celebrated their birthday!

Milo is 2 this year and we had a simple Pocoyo birthday celebration for him. He sure was really happy to see his “Co” and friends around!

Without an oven around, the mommy decided to buy the strawberry shortcake from Four Leaves and put the Pocoyo characters that she had bought. But alas, she forgotten that this is not a butter cake nor covered with fondant, and Pocoyo and friends kept sinking down!

Nonetheless it didn’t stop little milo from wanting to eat the cake!!

We’ve also ordered some delicious food from our yummylicious Domino’s and Arnold’s! Gotcha! Yup, caught that little milkie trying to secretly popped in some popcorn chix from Domino’s before her grandma stops her! What to do? It’s just too tasty!

After a night of eating and crazy balloons popping (more for the older kids than him for he don’t seem to know what to do but the diy drop net works!), it’s back to the house for some fun shots with the balloons.

Happy Birthday, our Little Milo!

Stay Healthy, Happy & Cute!
